SEX IN THE CITY – GALLERY DIFFERENT – 14 PERCY STREET

PART ONE- SEX IN THE CITY
Paul Stafford ARBS will live and work in ‘Gallery Different’ for one week beginning Tuesday the 29th of July until Saturday the 2nd of August. He will work with volunteer ‘subjects’ making intimate body casts of couples and singles engaged in ‘live’ sexual acts within the gallery space. Working behind a hung white sheet projected from behind like a modern day silhouette puppet show he will work with his subjects producing 2 to 3 new pieces of sculpture each day. New work will then be exhibited on the gallery walls each day. The work is likely to be very challenging and graphic in nature and will be strictly for an adult audience only.
You won’t be allowed in during the casting week but you can take a ‘peek’ through the hole.
PART TWO- GET YOUR KIT OFF
We have enlisted the help of local workers and residents to take part on our naked/semi naked life drawing sessions. Our gallery Artists will paint and draw our volunteers each lunchtime and early evening, reclining nude in the gallery. Our artists will be producing unique ‘one off’ works that we will exhibited opposite Paul’s sculpture. The public WILL NOT BE ADMITTED during the life drawing sessions but the work will be on public display from Monday the 4th of August until Monday the 11th of August.

PART THREE – THE EXHIBITION
Doors will open 10.30am Monday August 4th to 6.30 pm Monday August 11th when all work produced will on exhibition to the public, strictly adults only, those of a nervous disposition are advised not to enter the gallery.
We believe we have created a unique exhibition that has never been undertaken before. We have no idea what will be produced or what our subjects will get up to but we do know it will be challenging, daring and ‘of the now”
